The George Fox University Hall of Fame began with the induction of its first class in 1996. It was founded at the direction of George Fox president Edward F. Stevens by eventual HOF member, Hal Adrian. The inspiration and purpose of this hall of fame is to honor those persons who have made outstanding contributions to the university's athletic programs and exists to perpetuate the memory of those persons who have brought distinction, honor and excellence to the George Fox athletic department.

A selection committee meets annually to evaluate nominations, and those nominees who receive a 75 percent favorable vote are elected. Currently, the George Fox Hall of Fame has inducted the following:

  • 106 athletes
  • 19 coaches
  • 22 for meritorious service
  • 6 for legacy
  • 28 teams
  • 675 total individuals (athletes, teams, coaches, legacy, and meritorious)
