Former Bruin basketball and baseball player Tom Hewitt has continued  to represent and support his alma mater well since his graduation from George Fox in 1977. He was an assistant basketball coach at George Fox under head coach Sam Willard and also coached tennis. He was the head men's basketball coach at Concordia-Portland from 1981-84, compiling a 55-43 record and leading the Cavaliers to third place at the NCCAA National Tournament in 1982. He also taught in the Portland Public School System and coached high school basketball. For many years he has been the play-byplay voice for Portland State University football and men's basketball teams, and for several years conducted a Saturday morning local radio show on golf called "Teeing It Up with Tom." He maintains contact with his alma mater by serving as master of ceremonies for the annual George Fox Golf Tournament each July, which he has done since its inception.
