The 1987 women's volleyball team capped off a 33-22 season with an NCCAA National Championship by defeating two of the best teams in the country that year, and completing one of the most significant tournament comebacks at the national tournament. The team honors include a region 8 championship, NCCAA District Coach of the Year, three conference All-Star team members, NCCAA National Coach of the Year, and Katie Lange was named to the National All-Tournament Team. During the national tournament George Fox completed a comeback from a 2-10 game deficit to defeat Trintity College 19-17 in a 58 minute set, which carried them to the national title match and championship. Kim Meche still holds the record for single season service aces with 87 and is second in service aces per game (0.66). Stacie Chandler is fourth All-Time in single season blocks per game with an average of 1.72.
Members of the 1987 women’s volleyball team are as follows: Kari (Ketterling) Goodman, Danielle Wilson, Stacie (Chandler) Wolfe, Ann Marie Frisch, Becky Cate, Kristen (Diefenbaugh) DeAndrea, Lisa (Steppe) Corbett, Andrea (Marthaller) Bochart, Katie (Wardle) Lange and the late Kim Meche.
