Dave McDonald was an All-American pole vaulter for the Bruins from 1968 to 1972. He was the  NAIA District 2 champion four times and set a district record in the 1969 district meet at 15 feet, 7 inches, a mark that stood for 15 years until 1984. He was a three-time NAIA All-American in  1969-71, finishing third nationally in each of those three seasons. In  1969 and 1971, he reached 15'8" in the outdoor vault, and in 1970 he hit 15'4" in the indoor vault. Both marks are still George Fox records.
