Hall of Fame
A three-sport standout for the Bruins, Harold Ankeny made a name for himself as a quick and powerful running back that one area sports writer said "could have played for many teams on the West Coast." He led the team in scoring in both his junior and senior seasons, averaging 4.8 yards per carry during the 1949 season and 5.8  yards per carry while serving as one of the  team's co-captains in 1950. As a sophomore, in his only season as a varsity basketball player, Harold was the  team's second-leading scorer with 192 points. He was a catcher on the baseball team, hitting a career high .308  in  his  junior season, and closed out his senior year by hitting a home run in his last at-bat. He worked at George Fox from 1968- 1991, serving at various times as dean of students, director of financial aid, and director of planned giving. Harold was named Alumnus of the Year in 1992.
