In his position as a negotiator of multi -sport, multi million-dollar equipment and licensing deals for Nike, Eric Lautenbach is one of George Fox's most influential persons in Oregon and throughout the nation. By maintaining good relationships with the "already famous" and the "up-and-coming" in the world of basketball, he seeks to make sure that the best teams in college basketball are wearing the Nike "swoosh". He has also been instrumental in helping in the success of the annual George Fox University golf tournament. A four-year letterman for the Bruins in basketball from 1984-88, he was named a team captain and "Most Inspirational" his senior year after a serious knee injury during  his junior season deprived him  of a chance to play professionally overseas.
