Until Pat Casey came along, the George Fox Bruins had posted only three winning baseball seasons in the  school's history. With Casey  at the  helm from 1988 to 1994, the Bruins had seven winning seasons and  a 171-113-1 record, a .602 winning percentage. His 1994 team became the first Bruin baseball team to win 30 games in a 31-12 season. The Bruins won six conference championships, three NAIA District 2 titles, and played in three NAIA regional competitions under his direction. In addition, he coached 37 All Conference and three All-American players. In 1994, Casey applied for and was appointed the head baseball coach at Oregon State University in the prestigious Pac-10 Conference, one of the premier baseball conferences in the nation.
