A Two-time NCAA All-American in pole vault, Heather set a Bruin vault record of 12-5.5 in 2001.  Heather had the opportunity to attend the national meets all four years in addition to Junior Nationals her freshman year.  She holds Bruin class records for all four years. As a sophomore, Heather placed eighth in NAIA Nationals and earned All-Northwest Conference honors by placing first in NWC Championships and All-America honors with a seventh-place finish in NCAA Division III Nationals in 2000. In 2001, Heather won the NWC title and placed second in NCAA Nationals, again earning All-American status her senior year. Her vault at nationals of 12-5.5 actually tied for best in the meet, but she finished second. She was very close to clearing the next height of 13-1 only knocking the bar off with her nose on the way down.

Heather currently lives in Silverton with her husband, Ryan who was also a graduate of George Fox (1998-2001).  They have had four handsome boys, Noah, Javan, Ethan and Logan.  After graduating she proceeded to go to OHSU to obtain her nursing license.  Over the years she has rotated back and forth between living in North Carolina where her husband was stationed and Oregon when he was deployed.  Currently she works part-time as a nurse at the Salem Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.  She spent the past three years coaching pole vault at Salem Academy and was able to lead one of her senior pole vaulters to win state this past season.  In her spare time she also volunteers for the YMCA helping coach her boys in track.  Heather’s favorite pastime is going on bike rides, hiking, camping, going to the park, and playing with her boys.
