Miguel Rivera was the first star to emerge from a rapidly improving baseball program at George Fox under Coach Pat Casey. With his potent bat and sure glove at second base, he was an essential key to four straight winning seasons for the Bruins from 1988-91. Miguel played an instrumental role in the baseball team's first back-to-back winning seasons in the history of the program. He was a four-time Metro Valley League First Team and NAIA All-District 2 First Team Selection, and received NAIA Division 1 All-America Honorable Mention recognition in 1989 while batting .426 with 16 stolen bases. He followed the 1989 season with a .434 mark in 1990. Both figures still rank in the top 10 for single-season average.
