The 1980 George Fox women's track and field team under head coach Randy Winston won the Women's Conference of Independent Colleges championships for a second straight year, setting five WCIC records. Shavon Dennis won the 200 (25.7) and the 400 (57.6) meters. Karen Maxwell won the 100 hurdles (15.5) and the 400  hurdles (1:05.38), and Jacquie Williams, Maxwell, Dennis, and Saundra Burns won the 4x100 relay (4:07.4), all in WCIC record times. In the Northwest College Women's Sports Association Division 2-3  Meet, Dennis set a meet record in the 400 (56.72). Ten school records also were set during the season, including individual marks in the 100 (Jacque Davis), 400 (Dennis), 800 (Maxwell), discus (Rachel Hampton), and pentathlon (Maxwell), and group marks in the 4x100 (Davis, Maxwell, Williams, and Dennis), 4x100 relays (Davis, Maxwell, Hampton and Jodie Hawkins).
