Jon worked his way into the George Fox history books, setting school records in both cross country and track and field. As a track athlete, Jon ranked second all-time in the 10K as a sophomore and actually held the school record for three weeks with the fastest Bruin time in 13 years. He was ranked third all-time as a junior in the 10K as well as 10th all-time as a senior in the 5K.Â
Jon’s track career was complemented by an incredible cross country career. He was named to the all-district team as a sophomore, was district runner-up his junior year, and earned district champion and All-American honors as a senior. He placed 13th at NAIA nationals. He was named NAIA District 2 Cross Country Athlete of the Year in 1992.Â
Jon also helped lead the cross country team to four straight district championships as well as four consecutive top-10 team finishes at nationals.
