A multi-event participant in his two years at George Fox, Mark Halland remains in the all-time top 10  in numerous track and field events. He is the Bruins' record holder in the indoor triple jump (47 feet, 11 inches in 1973) and is second in the outdoor triple jump (48-5.5 in 1972) . In other events, he is second in  the indoor long jump (22-7 in 1973), sixth in the indoor high jump (6-4  in 1972), and 10th in the outdoor long jump (22-4.5 in 1973). He also competed in the 100-, 220-, and 440-yard dashes, the 440- and 880-yard relays, and the mile relay. He was the 1972 NAIA District 2 triple jump champion (47-6.5) and placed fifth at the NAIA 1972 National Championships triple jump competition (48-5.5). In 1972 and 1973,  he was voted the team's Most Valuable Track Athlete, and in 1973, he was voted as the team captain. He held George Fox records in outdoor high jump, triple jump, 440 relay, 880 relay, and mile relay, and the indoor triple jump, long jump and high jump at the time of his graduation. Mark is a longtime Christian youth worker who resides in Montana.
