In his only two seasons of participation at George Fox, in 1985 and 1987, Adolphus Onua established himself as the finest high hurdler in Bruin history. A native Nigerian, Onua was a two time NAIA District 2 champion and two-time national qualifier in the 110-meter high hurdles, and set the school record with a time  of 13.94 on April 13, 1985. In 1987, he finished first in every hurdle event until he finished third in the 110 high hurdles at the NAIA National Championships and earned NAIA All-American honors. He also ran on the 1987 4x100-meter relay team that captured the NAIA District 2 Championships, and he ranks ninth in the 100-meter dash at George Fox with a time of 11:04.
