A three-time All-Northwest Conference honoree, including league MVP in 1999, and an honorable mention NAIA All-American in 1998, Mark Tyler is perhaps the  best-hitting catcher in George  Fox history. He is the all-time Bruin leader in doubles (66) and hit by pitches (53), and ranks second in RBIs (180) and total bases (382), third in home runs (34), fourth in on-base percentage (.509),  fifth in slugging percentage (.739), tied for fifth in runs (153), tied for sixth in hits (204) and walks (71), ninth in at bats (517), tied for both in triples (5), and tied for 2oth in stolen bases (14) . He set the George Fox single-season record for doubles (21) in 1999, since broken, after collecting 20 doubles the season before. His 18 home runs in 1999 are the  third most in a season, and his 71 RBIs in 1999 are tied for second-most. He was honorable mention All-NWC in 1997 and First Team the  next two seasons. He was named to the NAIA All-Pacific Northwest/Far West Region teams in 1998 and 1999.
