Hall of Fame
In 1902, The Oregonian newspaper wrote that Roy Heater was "recognized as the best all-around athlete ever turned out in the Northwest." He was a standout basketball and football player, but was best known for winning as many as seven events in a single track meet. He set Pacific Northwest records in four events, and beat the world-record-holder at the 1905 Amateur Athletic Union National Championships to win the pole vault competition.
