Hall of Fame
A football, baseball and basketball star from 1916 to 1919 at then-Pacfiic College, Frank Colcord was an all-conference guard  in basketball and played on teams that twice defeated Oregon Agricultural College, now Oregon State University. He was student body treasurer, president of the men's athletic association, and associate editor of the school paper. He left school in 1918 to join the Friends Reconstruction Unit to assist in the rebuilding of France after World War I. He was a member of the college's board of trustees for 35 years, in 1948 becoming chair of the investment committee that eventually enlarged the school's endowment to  $1,000,000. He was manager of the  Newberg branch of Portland General Electric, a two-term mayor of Newberg, and chairman of the board at Newberg Community Hospital. Frank C. Colcord Memorial Field, the George Fox track and field facility, was dedicated in his honor in 1969.
