Cal Ferguson is one of the most accomplished dual-sport athletes to compete at George Fox. He was a three-year varsity letter winner for the men’s basketball team as well as a member of the track and field team. Cal was one of the first athletes at George Fox to compete at the national level.

During his time at George Fox he broke five school track and field records – in the triple jump, mile relay, two-mile relay, and two different distance medley relays. Cal was a three-year conference triple jump champion, which set a record for consecutive championships. He was a two-year NAIA Oregon state triple jump champion, breaking the state record each year. In 1967, Cal had a sixth-place finish in the triple jump at the NAIA nationals, which earned him All-American honors, and he followed that up with a fifth-place triple jump finish in 1968, landing him on the All-American list a second time.
