Vance was a member of Central High School’s 1985 AA Boys’ Cross-Country State Championship team, a member of GFU’s Hall of Fame 1990 Men’s Cross-Country team, an NAIA All-American for George Fox in 1991, and represented Athletes in Action’s (Campus Crusade for Christ) Elite National team 1992-1994.

Vance lives in McMinnville, Oregon and is married to Monique Godfrey (Davis) (also a George Fox alumnus, 93-94), and they are the proud parents of Jeremiah (17) and Priscilla (16). After Vance graduated from GFU, he worked at US Bank for five years before moving on to McMinnville Water & Light in 1996. He works as the Municipal Utilities Office Manager. As a family, the Godfrey’s have a passion for music, ministry, and evangelism. They help run the sound and Monique is a worship leader at Calvary Chapel McMinnville.
