Hall of Fame
Newberg businessman Bernard McGrath resurrected the baseball program at George Fox in the 1940s and volunteered as coach for 11 seasons. Without this unselfish act, baseball would not have existed at George Fox during this period of time. A former semi-professional baseball player, McGrath played internationally for Army and Red Cross teams. McGrath was inducted into the NAIA District 2 Hall of Fame for meritorious service in  19 65 . McGrath was a longtime supporter of Newberg sports. He volunteered as timekeeper and referee at Newberg High School, where the athletic complex bears his name. McGrath died in 1976.
